Volunteering at Genesee County Parks

Genesee County Parks is looking for you!!!

Whether it’s volunteering at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, collating Parks promotional material for an upcoming event at the Parks Administration Office, or working on the many beautiful flowerbeds throughout our county parks, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities waiting for you!  If you’re a history buff, you might enjoy volunteering at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad where visitors step back in time and experience life in a rural Genesee County Village just as it was in the 1800s.

Have a green thumb or just like working outside?  We have many opportunities available throughout the Genesee County Parks.  A For-Mar volunteer, for example, might guide a group of school children while they enjoy a nature walk.

If you love children, we have several fun, unique volunteer opportunities for you!  Come join us when Thomas the Train rolls into Crossroads Village. Or visit Crossroads Village in October for gentle frights when we celebrate Halloween with our annual Ghosts & Goodies program.  Children of all ages—even adults—can enjoy some trick-or-treat fun!

If your school, club, or business has a volunteer hour requirement, or if your family and friends just like getting out and doing things together, there is no place like the Genesee County Parks to enjoy the volunteer experience.  Our Adopt-A-Park program helps make our county parks more inviting to our guests.  And by participating, you can take pride in a job well done at the end of the day!

Every year, hundreds of people step up and offer their time and talent to the Genesee County Parks.  By joining the Genesee County Parks volunteer team, you’re not only making a positive contribution to the health and welfare of our community, but you’re also joining a well-established organization that has an outstanding reputation for customer service.

So make a difference in your life and in the lives of thousands by signing up as a Genesee County Parks volunteer today!  If you would like to suggest a volunteer opportunity that fits your organization's mission, please contact the volunteer coordinator.
