Check out the new walking trail map for Buell Lake County Park. The map features a designated walking area with distances marked for your convenience.

  • Ball Diamonds.

  • Pavilions (available for rental).

  • Picnic Areas and Playground.

  • Fishing Site.

  • Radio-Controlled Model Airplane Field.

  • Snowmobile Area. Open 24 hours. Facilities open when the terrain is frozen and there is a 3" accumulation of snow.  Please remember that snow accumulation on the ground is not an indicator of frozen terrain.  For dates and times facilities will be open for these activities, please call 810.736.7100

Alcohol Policy for All Parks
No alcohol or illegal substances allowed. Park rangers will issue tickets with fines of up to $100 for all violations.

 Gone Fishin’ (ages 4-6)

“What was that fish I just caught?”  A For-Mar Naturalist describes common fish and observes some of Michigan’s fish in a live exhibit.

A For-Mar Naturalist describes fishing as a way of life in Michigan.  See some of Michigan’s cool species of fish before trying to catch your own.

Its midsummer and wildlife is making its own unique music.  Join a For-Mar Naturalist as they tune into Nature’s symphony.

Michigan’s wildlife demands to be heard.  Follow a For-Mar Naturalist as they track down the source of all these sounds.

Help For-Mar Crime Scene Investigators solve the mystery of Michigan’s endangered animals. Make a Box Turtle refrigerator magnet to take home.

Assist a For-Mar Naturalist investigating some of Michigan’s endangered animals!  Piece together this CSI mystery and create a “Friendly Wildlife” yard sign.

Join a For-Mar Naturalist in pond water exploration by ‘dipping’ from nearby waterways.  Make a ‘Pond Globe’ as a memoir of your observations!

A For-Mar Naturalist will be your guide during an hour long journey through the milky way of stars, constellations and even meteor showers which appear in the August night sky.

Who goes there?  When the sun goes down, many animals wake up!  Explore the summer twilight and its mysterious animals with a For-Mar Naturalist.

 It’s A Natural Thing. (ages 4-6)

A For-Mar Naturalist will demonstrate easy and fun ways to create art using items found in Nature.  Make a windsock and decorate it with Natural paints and dyes.

Being creative is fun and Natural! A For-Mar Naturalist will inspire you to use Nature’s items in art. Make a kite using recycled materials decorated with natural paints and dyes.
